MSc. Dalton A. Antunes

Founder and Instructor

Prof. Dalton is a zootechnician graduated from the Federal University of Lavras - UFLA, with a Master's degree from the University of Brasília - UnB. He is also a Bachelor of Law by the UPIS College, with postgraduate studies in Law by the Estácio de Sá University. He has taken the Course in English Common Law: Structure and Principles, by the University of London International Programs, and the

Environmental Law and Projects Course by PROMINAS.


He has experience as a Federal Civil Servant - Analyst of the Federal Public Administration and as Professor of Wild Animals and Animal Behavior at the UPIS College. He has been the General Coordinator of Environment at INCRA/SEDE in Brasília. He also works as a private attorney; professor of Environmental, Administrative, Constitutional and Consumer Law at the Law Course at the UPIS College; professor of Environmental Policy and Legislation at the Postgraduate Course at Faculdade da Terra in Brasília; professor of the Preparatory Course for Contests at IBAMA - Instituto Processus; coordinator of the Technical Chamber of Wild Animals of the Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the Federal District; consultant to the United Nations Development Program – IBAMA/Headquarters in the Fauna Inspection Division of the Environmental Protection Directorate; instructor of the Training Course for Inspectors at IBAMA; instructor of the Environmental Analyst training course at IBAMA; head of the Works Licensing Nucleus, at the Federal District Environmental Secretariat. Founder of the Fauna in Foco courses.

Ana Raquel G. Faria

Instructor and Co-administrator

BA in Animal Science from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), Master in Animal Nutrition from UFRRJ, and doctoral candidate in Ecology and Natural Resources at the State University of Norte Fluminense (UENF).

Over 20 years' experience in the field of environment, ex situ and in situ management for wildlife conservation. Prof. Ana Raquel has worked in institutions such as the Rio de Janeiro Zoo, the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (CETAS) in Rio de Janeiro, IBAMA Headquarters in Brasília, and the Brasília Zoo. She has been a professor and coordinator of graduate studies at the UPIS and FTB Colleges, and a consultant at Itaipu Binacional, IBAMA and Carioca Engineering. In 2019, she held the position of Superintendent of Conservation and Research at the Brasília Zoo. She is currently the Conservation Director of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums of Brazil (AZAB), a researcher associated with the Project Anteaters in Brazil, and has been an instructor of the Fauna em Foco courses since 2005.

Dr. Cristiane Pizzutto​

Instructor

Veterinary Doctor graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of São Paulo (FMVZ/USP),with Master's, Doctorate and Post-Doctorate Degrees from the same institution, and a Course on Zoo Biology and Management and Zoological Medicine Training by AZA (American Zoo and Aquarium Association).

Prof. Cristiane has experience as Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the University of São Paulo (FMVZ/USP); advisor and professor at the Postgraduate Program in Animal Reproduction (FMVZ/USP). She has been the winner of the Hannelore Fuchs Award - Animal Behavior; President of the Technical Committee for Animal Welfare of Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine of the state of São Paulo; member of the Welfare Committee of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums of Brazil (AZAB); founder and Researcher Member of the Reprocon (Reproduction for Conservation) Institute; member of the International Environmental Enrichment Conference Committee. She has participated in internships at the California Regional Primate Research Center and the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. Coordinator of Shape Brazil - The Shape of Enrichment. Reviewer of national and international journals.

Cynthia Cypress

Instructor

Biologist graduated from Catholic University of the state of Minas Gerais, with a Certificate in Animal Welfare - Wild Welfare/AZAB, Course on Managing Animal Enrichment and Training Programs (MAETP) from the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA); Course on Best Practices in Animal keeping from the (Zoo Conservation Outreach Group/AZA.



Prof. Cynthia has been working for over twenty years with welfare, environmental enrichment and animal conditioning at the Belo Horizonte Zoo, and has been the Coordinator of the Animal Welfare Committee of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums of Brazil (AZAB); member of The Shape of Enrichment Brazil; and auditor of AZAB in the Animal Welfare Certification Program for Brazilian Zoos and Aquariums.

MSc. Roberto Cabral Borges

Instructor

Master in Ecology from the University of Brasília (UnB), Specialist in Higher Education Methodology from the Center for Higher Education (CES-JF) and Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF).



Prof. Roberto has over 25 years' experience in the environmental area, particularly in wildlife management and protection. Author of the book Serpentes Peçonhentas Brasileiras (Brazilian Venomous Snakes). Professor at the João XXIII Application School/UFJF (1992 to 2002). Environmental Analyst at Ibama since 2002. Federal Environmental Agent since 2004. Professor at JK College (2004 to 2008). Co-responsible for Cetas and Passeriformes Breeders at Ibama (2003 and 2004). Co-responsible for the implementation of the control and monitoring system for the amateur bird rearing activity - SisPass (2004). Head of the Fauna Inspection Nucleus (2004 to 2008). Operations and Inspection Coordinator (2008 to 2012/2017 to 2019). Coordinator of the GEF (2014 to 2020). Fauna Inspection and Approach Instructor in the Training Course for Inspectors at Ibama. Instructor of the Fauna em Foco courses since 2005.

MSc. Lucas Andrade Carneiro

Instructor

Master in Animal Nutrition by the Federal University of the state of Paraná and Zootechnician trained by the same institution.

Prof. Lucas has worked as a zootechnician at Pomerode Zoo in the southern state of Santa Catarina, and as Director of Nutrition and Animal Feed at the Brasília Zoo. He is currently head of the Animal Nutrition Division at BioParque in the state of Rio de Janeiro. He also works as animal nutrition consultant for ZooCare, and as coordinator of the AZAB Nutrition Committee and instructor of Fauna em Foco courses.

Mariane Oliveira

Translator and Interpreter

 

Graduated in the Study and Practice of Translation from the University of Brasilia, with specialization in Technical Translation from the Estácio de Sá University.

Seventeen years' experience in translation and simultaneous interpretation in the environmental and diplomatic areas, having worked at Embassies, the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Science and Technology and UNDP.

MSc. Mikaella Frason

Instructor

Veterinary Doctor graduated from the Newton Paiva University, Master in Animal Science from the Department of Clinical and Veterinary Surgery of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in the area of Clinic and Surgery of Wild Animals.

Prof. Mikaella has been working at the Muriqui Institute of Biodiversity (MIB) Team, in the medical clinic and management of the Brachyteles hypoxanthus, a critically endangered species.

Vanessa Draghi
Translator and Interpreter

Complete course in Spanish and BA in Spanish from the Miguel de Cervantes College in São Paulo; graduated in Physiotherapy from UNISA College in São Paulo, with specialization in Global Postural Re-education For Neuromuscular Re-equilibrium from Firval Study Center in São Paulo, Post-graduation studies in People Management at the UNINOVE São Paulo, Post-graduation studies in Administrative and Financial Management at the Cândido Mendes University (Rio de Janeiro).
