Prof. Ana Raquel G. Faria
Formation:
Master in Animal Nutrition - UFRRJ and Animal Science graduated from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro and doctoral candidate in Ecology and Natural Resources at the State University of Norte Fluminense (UENF).
Experience:
Working for more than 20 years in the area of environment, ex situ and in situ management for wildlife conservation, the professional began her career at the Rio de Janeiro City Hall (RioZoo Foundation), passing by the Federal Government (IBAMA) – Wild Animal Screening Center - CETAS RJ and, later, IBAMA headquarters – Brasília. She was a professor and coordinator of postgraduate studies at Faculdades UPIS and Faculdades da Terra de Brasília – FTB, and has worked as a consultant in a Public Company (Itaipu Binacional) and in a Private Company (Carioca Engenharia). More recently, she assumed the position of Superintendent of Conservation and Research at the Brasília Zoological Foundation (Government of the Federal District), where she remained until the end of 2019. She currently works in civil society as Director of Conservation of the Association of Zoos and Aquários do Brasil, as a researcher associated with the Tamanduá Project and instructor of the Fauna em Foco course since 2005.
